ULSTER REFORM CLUB

Established 1885

A Message from your new President

President

The Ulster Reform Club is the most prestigious business, social and dining club in Northern Ireland. Its fine, listed clubhouse, which first opened its doors on New Year’s Day 1885, occupies a prominent position on Royal Avenue, Belfast. Amongst the Club’s Past Presidents is Thomas Andrews, whose son famously went on to design RMS Titanic.

Once inside, the clubhouse is an oasis of calm. Members may enjoy superb dining facilities, with fine cuisine prepared by our excellent chefs. Alternatively, they may choose to relax in the Members’ Bar or take their ease in the Reading Room overlooking Castle Place, as the life of the city passes by outside.

Members can also make use of the leisure facilities, incorporating our Snooker Room with two superb tables, dating from the opening of the Club. The more active member may choose our well-equipped Fitness Suite.

The club has a variety of additional rooms which are available for meetings, conferences, weddings, other receptions or private dining for groups ranging from six to over 100. The building has an excellent WIFI system installed and there is a business suite for use by members.

The Club has an active social calendar, including guest speaker lunches and afternoon teas, musical evenings, gourmet dinners, wine tastings, club society meetings, and sporting events.

In addition, the Club offers extensive reciprocal arrangements with similar Clubs around the world. These arrangements allow the benefits of temporary membership to our Members whilst travelling and many provide an attractive alternative to hotel accommodation.

Application for membership is open to all. Admission to membership is by application supported by a Proposer and Seconder and is subject to the Club’s eligibility criteria.

A real benefit from membership is that the Club has retained its intimacy, such that a stranger entering the Members’ Bar or Dining Room does not remain a stranger for very long; the bond of friendship between Members remains as strong in the present day as it has been throughout the years.

Please contact the Club either directly or via our social media links, should you require further information.
