2025 marks the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE Day) and Victory in Japan (VJ Day), making it a fitting year to welcome one of the UK’s foremost military historians, Dr. Robert Lyman.
Renowned for his extensive work on ‘The Forgotten War’ in the Far East, Dr. Lyman has written extensively on the Burma campaign, General Slim, and some of the most daring operations of the Second World War, including the Amiens prison raid and the raid on the dry dock at St. Nazaire. He has also served as the BBC’s historical advisor for VJ Day commemorations in both 2015 and 2020.
His latest book, Victory to Defeat – The British Army 1918-40, co-authored with General Dannatt - the former Chief of the Defence Staff, offers both historical insight and timely warnings. And in May 2025, he will release Korea: War Without End
This event has been two years in the making—don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear from one of Britain’s most distinguished military historians.
